Chronicles of Gautam

Now this is what I call a great MBA's marketing mind at work! This poster, seen at the Philips cafeteria near where I work, had me in splits the first time I saw it. I wonder if there is a tiny possibility that the person who coined this 'We squeeze to please' tagline really had no idea of its sexual connotations. And the 'Juices 'n' More ' doesn't help either. I am convinced that the guy had a stroke genius, or has a really sad life. To this day, I cannot keep a straight face as I say to the person at the counter,"Ondu water melon juice kodi". And add mentally, "freshly squeezed please!".

So I have finally become any engineer! Here goes: Gautam Chaudhari Bachelor of Engineering (Honors), Electrical and Electronics. Btw, I joined DSP group , the company interned with earlier, as a software engineer.

I know its been 2 months since my last post, and I admit, I have no excuse. I was busy, but not so that I couldn't take out a few minutes for a quick update. Anyways, if my last winter vacation was a whirlwind, the last two months were nothing short of a tornado. Let me try to summarize them as by bro does on his blog: ADVD analog assignment, OLAB, more OLAB, W/L ratios, increasing current decreasing resistance, assembly programming, APOGEE project, couplings and breakups, SJphone, SYNC packets, PPD, OFDM, Least mean square algo, John Deere, XLRI interview, Delhi, metro, John Deere, DSPG, Instru Assoc, C'not sessions. I just love this place. My psenti sem is getting over. :(

I got placed in John Deere(India) ! For the uninitiated, John Deere is a Fortune 500 company , with $24 bn of revenue. "It is the world’s leading provider of advanced products and services for agriculture and forestry and a major provider of advanced products and services for construction, lawn and turf care, landscaping and irrigation. John Deere also provides financial services worldwide and manufactures and markets engines used in heavy equipment. Since it was founded in 1837, the company has extended its heritage of integrity, quality, commitment and innovation around the globe." The job will be in Pune. I am considered one of the luckier ones on campus, with just about 30 people placed out of 550 in BITS after a fortnight of start of placements. Yeah! Current favourite song: "Mere Dushman, tu meri dosti ko tadpe".

The past one month has been quite a blur. From Bangalore to Mumbai to Pilani. From Kannada all around to Marathi all around to Hindi all around. From get-up-in-the-morning-and-go-to-work to who-the-hell-cares-what-day-it-is to ghot-for-placements-even-if-no-company-is-coming. From colleagues to family to friends. From Bangalore to Home to Home.
